Procedure
- Steam or boil the veggies that are required to make the patty. These include frozen green peas, potatoes, and carrots. Steam them for about 5-7 minutes and mash them once cooled
- To this mashed mixture add spices like cumin powder, garam masala, salt, green chillies, black pepper powder and a pinch of red chilli powder and mix till it becomes a sticky but firm mixture
- Bring out the breadcrumbs and coat this mixture with breadcrumbs till they feel solid and not crumbly
- Divide this dough into smaller sections, one for each patty and flatten each section into a circular patty that fits the size of your burger bun
- In another bowl, add corn starch, salt and water and mix to form a thick batter
- Dip the patties into the batter, then coat them with breadcrumbs again and fry them in oil until they are golden brown
- Once done, use the same oil to fry ITC Master Chef Crispy French Fries until they are golden and crispy and set them aside
- For the burger sauce, mix mayonnaise with red chilli flakes, a little lemon juice, olive oil, mustard, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. If you have other ready-made sauces like a Tandoori mayo sauce, you can add it in for a different flavour
- Toast your burger buns with butter before assembling your burger. Add a layer of butter on both sides of the bun before placing the veg patty, along with a dash of the burger sauce and veggies. Finally, add the top bun and enjoy your burger
- For an additional cheesy flavour, you can also place a cheese slice above your patty to have a cheesy and loaded veg burger!
